Ballooning is a very specialised activity relying not just on weather conditions but also on the rules of aviation governed by the Civil Aviation Authority and the goodwill of landowners where balloons touch down.

While spectacular, mass launches of hot air balloons involve particular planning, safety considerations and sometimes a ‘flying competition’ so specialist knowledge is required to organise these at public displays.

Run by Peter Gray Balloon Meet Support Services Limited was formed in 1998 to help event organisers manage the participation of hot air balloons at shows throughout the UK and has established a reputation within the ballooning fraternity for well organised events that demonstrate the importance of a good working relationship with balloon pilots and landowners.

Balloon Meet Support Services Limited also offers a range of items of ballooning memorabilia for sale to the public and a personal photographic service to event organisers and pilots.

Our services also include :

Sourcing pre-flight meteorological information, ongoing throughout the event
Liaising with any nearby airport or airfield
Acting in for local Landowner Relations Officer, if required
Carrying out pre-flight pilot briefings covering meteorological and landowner information
Supplying details about all balloons participating in each launch for public address purposes
Debriefing pilots and collating landing card information following each flight
Providing accurate data for judging flying competition results and quantities of fuel used by each balloon, if required
Providing first point of contact for any inquiries or complaints from landowners
Liaising with pilots concerning tethering and night glow activity
Providing general pilot ‘help desk’ throughout the event
